Salsa History on The Fillmore!

The very first annual Salsa Festival on The Fillmore was a huge success as thousands of people had to stop by and see what all the commotion was about.

The free outdoor dance at the Fillmore Center Plaza quickly turned into a dancing frienzy as a huge crowd of people crammed onto the floor to dance. "I told Juan to start the salsa lesson and all of a sudden the plaza was packed" -Rudy
Cuban singer Felix Samuel with Los Boleros did an excellent job to get the crowd excited and eager to participate in the festival. The benefit to the entire business community , (restaurants, dance clubs, coffee shops) could be measured by the large crowds of people in every venue.

Promoters Roy Bennett and Rudy Furlan are pleased with the outcome of their labor. " We have now teamed up with Evan Margolin of Salsa Crazy and commencing the plans for the next event. " -Rudy
